Winemaker Notes
Critical Acclaim
Elegant and complex, this red bursts with notes of plumeria, picking up hints of bay leaf, red currant, raspberry and blood orange. Fresh acidity activates additional layers of chalky minerality and toasty spice, backed by mineral-tinged tannins on the finish.

The 2018 Carignan VIGNO is 100% Carignan from old vines from a dry-farmed vineyard in Huerta de Maule. Overseen by oenologist Eduardo Jordán, it is aged for 12 months in Italian foudres and then for another year in bottle. Bright reddish-purple in the glass. The ripe nose includes blackberry and wildflowers plus jasmine, black tea and balsamic notes. In the mouth, it’s relaxed with fine, juicy but reactive tannins.
The 2018 Cordillera Carmenere is very peppery with pungent varietal aromas. They try to show the DNA of the variety in the classical one of Peumo through good ripeness but keeping the freshness. The wine comes through as medium-bodied and fluid, balanced and with very fine tannins and with classical notes of cigar ash, cracked peppercorns and herbs. Robert Parker
