Combine the ultra-durable and realistic look of Highwood’s proprietary faux wood with the paint color of your choice to perfectly dress your home. These shutters are light, yet strong and sturdy, and are built from solid high-grade poly lumber (not formed in a cheap and hollow plastic mold).

Our lumber technology delivers a natural appearance and extremely durable product. The surface is textured to recreate natural woodgrain.

The shutters are ready to paint. Perfectly complement your existing trim with the matching paint color of your choice (if desired) or show off a little of your own style with colors that pop and enhance the palette of your home. (See installation guide for recommended exterior paints to use and popular tested paint brands.) Painting is optional, not required.

Acrylic enamels and alkyd (oil-based) paints will provide the best performance.

No sanding or priming is necessary. Ensure the shutter is free of dust and any other foreign material, then simply brush, roll, or spray [using an airless sprayer] with your preferred quality exterior paint.

** Aerosol spray paint can be used, however, do not use if it contains any aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g., xylene, toluene).**

These finishes consist of an outdoor acrylic enamel or oil-based paint that will hold up against moisture and UV exposure. Be sure to follow the instructions provided by the paint manufacturer.
